Background of the mission
The Regional Activity Centre for Specially Protected Areas and Wildlife of the Caribbean (SPAW-RAC) is a technical center dedicated to supporting the United Nations Environment Programme - Caribbean Environment Programme (UNEP-CEP) and Caribbean countries and territories in implementing their commitments on biodiversity protection through cooperation projects. Under the supervision of the Ministry in charge of the Environment, it is composed of 8 agents (3 civil servants, 3 contractual and 2 volunteers) and welcomes interns. It is administratively attached to the Directorate of Environment, Planning and Housing of Guadeloupe.
