Current lionfish activities by SPAW-RAC and its partners

  • NOAA and REEF finalized with their partners and distributed in all the Caribbean the manual named: « Invasive Lionfish: A Guide to Control and Management» for MPAs managers (control, research, management, education and outreach). See related article.
  • -Now existing a free Caribbean lionfish contact list (+200) to facilitate dissemination of informations, with a webportal to develop in 2013 with US support (Provide multi-media training tools, clearinghouse for information, updates on new findings).
  • Three training of trainers workshops involving more than 20 countries "Lionfish Collecting and Handling" were organized by REEF and the SPAW RAC in 2012. Others to come.
  • The lionfish regional strategy is actually developed with the Regional Lionfish Committee and experts to be presented to caribbean decision makers in 2013.
